Yes, it’s another 2017 holiday gift guide, but this one is a little different – it features some of my favorite brand collaborations for everyone on your list. Brand collaborations tend to be limited edition, and therefore rare, so these gifts can either be cherished forever or flipped for a profit. Thank me later!
Liberty of London + S’Well + Starbucks = Perfect Teacher Gifts: I practically fell off my desk chair when a friend of mine texted me a photo of S’Well bottles featuring Liberty of London prints from a New Jersey Starbucks. Who knew Starbucks actually knew that I wanted this so badly? The Liberty + S’well water bottles are $42. I already see people trying to cash in on their potential rarity on eBay. These bottles + a Starbucks gift card) make a great holiday gift for a teacher or babysitter.
Off___White + Nike = Best Aunt Ever: If price was no issue I would gift these to my young adult cousins and nieces. If you are looking for a showstopper holiday gift for a 16-25 year old I would suggest any kind of sneaker collaboration ( Adidas or Kith), or anything by Supreme (duh). You can find a selection of this merch + other rare streetwear items from Justin Reed here.
Madewell + Tretorn = Sparkly but Sensible: 2017 is the year of the sneaker collaboration and there are also affordable ones to buy as a holiday gift. I personally love Madwell’s exclusive collaborations with brands like Vans and Tretorn. 2017 is also the year of glitter, so I would gift the glitter Tretorns to pretty much anyone who I think is fab – like my client Dabney Lee would love these.
Doen + Polkadot Club = Adorable Keepsake: My girls love any kind of plush or collectible doll. My go-to brands are Maileg or the Cerise doll by Bonpoint. The Doen + Polkadot Club bunny matches with the popular tops and dresses Doen makes for moms and kids. You can also find a lovely selection of Polkadot Club and Maileg online at Cloth and Fawn Shoppe.
Barbie Style + Laduree = Yum + Fun: I always do sweets for one night of Hannukah. I’m lucky to have a Laduree near me in Soho with the best macaroons. Laduree introduced a collaboration with Barbie Style for its book launch over the summer. I admit we don’t own a lot of Barbie’s, but the Barbie Style book and its Instagram feed is filled with fashion and pop culture collaborations that shifted my perception of Barbie. The Barbie Style book is for playful fashion lovers, young and old. The Barbie Style + Lauduree box is for macaroon lovers, and who doesn’t love macaroons?
Emily & Merit + Pottery Barn Kids = Something Precious for Someone Precious: My grandfather gave me tiny diamond earrings with a beautifully written card that said “Something precious for someone precious” on one of my childhood holidays, and I’ll never forget it. This year, I am giving my girls precious jewelry from affordably priced mom + daughter line Starling. I also found fake but good quality versions of my Van Cleef & Arpels alhambra pendant on the street in Soho. My girls are getting their ears pierced at Clinical Ear Piercing. If you are in New York, this is the place to go for totally painless, clean piercing from a RN. I am hoping this personalized jewelry trunk from Emily & Merit for Pottery Barn Kids will help my girls responsibly store their many new jewels.

John Derian + Astier de Villate = The Perfect Gift for Me!: In 2018, I want to start collecting Astier de Villate pieces from France. I just bought a huge bowl by Astier from ABC Home for my dining table. ABC has a shop in shop that features Astier de Villate’s collaborations with John Derian and (believe it or not) Peanuts. The little John Derian plates and mugs with hearts and roses would make a great holiday gift for anyone you love. You have to see + touch them to appreciate the amazing craftmanship.
